Eastern Bloc will open its gallery doors to the public to showcase products from several local merchants. The organization will offer refreshments and will also showcase samples from a textile innovation project developed over the past year, entitled Fibres and Textiles: A Co-Creative Encounter. A vinyl transfer design offer will also be available for those who bring their own clothing and fabrics.
The project's trailer will also be officially released during this period. Initiated by the organization and supported by the Service de la culture de la ville de Montréal and the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec, the project brings together the expertise of the Centre de recherche et d'innovation en habillement Vestechpro, the Pôle créativité et invocation du HEC and the Milieux Institute of Concordia around the practice of two multidisciplinary artists. It will explore the creation of bridges between different actors of the textile industry, bio-manufacturing, smart clothing, materials of the future, digital transformation and the circular economy.
