A 100% Quebec collaboration
Cirque du Soleil's international headquarters is home to one of North America's largest costume design and manufacturing studios, as well as the world's largest textile transformation workshop! L'Atelier is a state-of-the-art facility where artisans, textile designers, chemists and meticulous enthusiasts work together.
With nearly 150 full-time employees, L'Atelier is bursting with talent. Every year, some 15,000 pieces and the equivalent of 150 kilometers of fabric are produced. Marie-Claude Pelletier, founder of styling agency Les Effrontés , was seduced by the craftsmen's expertise in creating durable, easy-care costumes that meet high-performance requirements while pushing back the limits of creativity. A collaboration thus began to unite the expertise of L'Atelier's craftsmen with that of local designers.
To celebrate Cirque du Soleil's 40th anniversary, l'Atelier wanted to collaborate with designers to showcase Quebec talent, innovate and push back the boundaries.
To showcase the many possibilities offered by L'Atelier, two local designers, Nadya Toto and Oscar Mendoza , have been selected to design outfits showcasing their talent and the expertise of Cirque du Soleil's L'Atelier professionals.
A first collection, exclusively sold at La Vitrine Québécoise by Les Effrontés, located at downtown's La Baie, has been created. We invite you to discover the final result and all the stages of its conception, on Wednesday, September 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.!
The collection will be launched on September 18, but pre-orders will be possible until October 18.
