"The Art of Creating" Fashion Show - ACMI

Fashion show

Wednesday, September 23

Open to all

Officially launched in 2025 during Montreal Fashion Week, the Association of Independent Fashion Designers (ACMI) was born out of a simple observation: the lack of representation for independent designers in a competitive industry. Indeed, the ACMI aims to give local brands new momentum.

About ten passionate female designers from Quebec have come together to amplify the voices of local talent and build a shared platform for recognition and solidarity: Naomie Caron (Selfish Swimwear), Mélissa Bolduc (Melow), Marilyne Baril (Marigold), Jennifer Glasgow (Jennifer Glasgow), Judith Desjardins (Bodybag), Eve Gravel (Eve Gravel), Marie-Jo Dorval (Kids Stuff), Eve Lavoie (Eve Lavoie), Marie-Ève Proulx (Odeyalo), among others.

More than just a group, a true movement is taking shape. The association is built on strong values: respect, transparency, collaboration, and a commitment to local manufacturing. Its mission is to support emerging designers, promote independent craftsmanship, and showcase ethical and sustainable Quebec fashion, while raising public awareness about the importance of supporting a responsible industry. ACMI is committed to dedicating its energy and doing everything in its power to develop, promote, and protect local Quebec fashion.

To that end, this organization will set the tone for Montreal Fashion Week by hosting, for the first time, a fashion show featuring some 20 local brands on September 23, 2026. The venue will be announced at a later date... so stay tuned!
