The flagship event, Montreal Fashion Week 2026, will come to life thanks to a partnership between the McCord Stewart Museum and the Montreal Afro-Canadian Cultural Center.

This evening event will be a central part of our fall program, tying in with our season dedicated to Indigenous cultures and the exhibition *Indigenous Voices Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience*.

Cultures of African descent and Indigenous cultures share commonalities that pave the way for cultural fusion and the forging of connections, which will be central to the themes explored. Cultural fusion will be addressed here as a powerful driver of creativity: the emergence of new materials, technological revolutions, and the cross-pollination of influences between fashion and traditional craftsmanship.

The event will offer a thoughtful and timely exploration of how identities are formed, transformed, and evolved through cultural exchange.

• A roundtable discussion bringing together artists and thinkers to explore issues of creativity and identity.
• A sale featuring three local designers.
• A fashion show featuring a selection of original designs (about five pieces).
• Guided Tour of the Exhibition “Indigenous Voices Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience”
