BATIK BOUTIK returns to Montreal Fashion Week with an exploration of fashion as a form of artistic and cultural expression.
Through textiles, photography, moving images, and pieces from the brand’s current collection and archives, the exhibition invites visitors to discover Batik Boutik’s ever-evolving creative world, as well as the places, people, and craftsmanship that shape it.
As an extension of its new collection, *The Courage to Be Yourself*, the project explores the themes of identity, self-expression, and the freedom to be oneself through clothing, imagery, and textiles.
Inspired by the designer’s recent trip to Egypt and Batik Boutik’s ongoing engagement with African textile traditions, the project views clothing as more than just a finished product—it sees it as the intersection of craftsmanship, place, identity, and creative exchange.
Visitors are invited to wander freely through the space throughout the day, with an opening reception at 6 p.m. A selection of pieces from Batik Boutik’s current collections and archives will also be on display and available for purchase.
